Cooper Tire Donates To Tupelo Ministry As Part Of Milestone Celebration

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – As part of Cooper Tire’s celebration marking the 375 millionth tire produced at the Tupelo plant, the company made a donation to Eight Days of Hope.

The company gave the non-profit $3,000 to carry out its mission of restoring and rebuilding homes in the aftermath of natural disasters.

Right now there are thousands of Eight Days of Hope volunteers in Houston, helping people whose homes are still damaged from Hurricane Harvey last summer.

Ministry officials say every donation makes a difference.

“With the donations we’re able to provide our homeowners with drywall, insulation, new counters, new appliances, we’re able to feed the volunteers , house them, take care of all those things that come along with a big trip like Houston,” said Eight Days of Hope Ambassador, Michael Thompson.

Ministry officials and volunteers will return from Houston next week. So far, they have worked at more than 700 homes in the past week and a half.
