Severe Weather Awareness Event

Severe Weather Awareness Event

TONIGHT: A refreshingly cool and crisp fall night is finally on tap. Look for lows in the 50s but a few low lying, sheltered spots may briefly dip into the upper 40s.

THURSDAY:  Abundant sunshine will be the rule of thumb along with highs in the low 80s in most spots.  All things considered it will be a pretty nice October afternoon.  If you are in Vernon, AL between 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. please stop by Durham’s Pharmacy to say hello during our severe weather awareness event!

FRIDAY:  Mostly sunny conditions are going to continue but afternoon highs should push back towards the middle 80s.  No issues are expected for high school football.

WEEKEND:  Unseasonably warm air returns for the both Saturday and Sunday. Highs each day are expected to be in the mid to upper 80s.  A late day shower can’t be ruled out on Sunday but most of the weekend is going to be dry.

NEXT WEEK:  A cold front will blast on through Monday and it may spark a few showers. We don’t envision too much moisture at this point.  Cooler, more fall-like air settles in behind the front and that means highs are going to tumble back into the 70s. Overnight lows early in the week may dip into the 40s!
