LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Crawford man is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile and a woman is accused of watching the alleged incident.

Jeffery Jackson, 44, and Jasmine Coleman, 25, are both charged with sexual battery.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department says the victim told investigators that she was riding around in a van in the Crawford area when she was sexually assaulted by Jackson.

The victim told deputies that Coleman watched the alleged assault and told the juvenile that if she did not participate, then Coleman would kill the young girl.

Eventually, the victim was able to get out of the van and run into the woods to escape.

More charges are possible from the October 3rd investigation.

Bond for Jackson and Coleman was set at $50,000 each.
