Video: Wish Is Granted For Luau Expert
TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A special wish comes true for a Tupelo teenager.
Eighteen year old Dee Crowe has “Down’s Syndrome” and is a hula and luau expert. His wish is to take part in a real luau, in Hawaii.
The wish was granted through “Make A Wish Mid South” Monday evening at the Fairpark Grill. Dee was told he and his family were going out to eat, and when he arrived, the surprise trip to Hawaii was announced.
“We’ve taken him to Hawaii before and he loves it but he’s always been fascinated with luaus, and to be able to be in there and participate in it, that’s something we could never do for him,” said Dee’s Dad, Denvil.
“To be able to work here at the Grill that does so much and supports the foundation and everything, it’s really cool we get to stay connected and get to see these other kids now get their wishes granted, it’s really special,” said Mallory Roberts, who works at Fairpark Grill and whose sister received her dream trip to New York City nearly 20 years through Make A Wish Mid South.
The annual celebrity wait night held at Fairpark Grill helps grant wishes to people like Dee and others throughout the region.
