Alabama Unemployment Rate Below National Average
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WCBI)- Alabama’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is below the national average for the first time since October 2013.
Governor Kay Ivey says the jobless numbers for August stands at 4.2%. It’s the lowest number of unemployed in a decade.
Last year, at the same time, it was 5.9%.
Wage and salary employment has increased this year.
Lamar County’s unemployment now stands at 4% unemployment, while Pickens is 5.1%.
The national average is four point 4%.
