Video: Suspicious Bag Hangs At The Lowndes County Courthouse Monday Morning

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Even though it was closed for the holiday, the Lowndes County Courthouse was a busy place on Monday, as investigators check out a possible threat.

Columbus Police responded to a call around lunch about a suspicious package at the courthouse.

When officers arrived, they found a plastic bag hanging on the front doors.

They called the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department out to help investigate.

Deputies found nothing dangerous.

Lowndes County Sheriff Mike Arledge says there were random items inside the bag, with no significance at this time.

No criminal charges are expected.
