VIDEO: 2nd Annual Paddle Fest

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Residents from around the Golden Triangle and beyond brought their paddle devices to the Tombigbee Waterway.

The Island Paddle Fest is a 5 point 5 mile kayak, canoe, and paddleboard race around “the island” in Downtown Columbus.

Registration for the race was 40 dollars, with all proceeds benefitting the Lowndes County Imagination Library, which is a non-profit that focuses on early childhood literacy.

Organizers say it’s a great way to get out on the water and have a good time for a great cause.

This is the second year for the Paddle Fest and there were about 40 participants.
