BREAKING: Video: Body Found In Noxubee County

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- An investigation is underway after the Noxubee County Sheriff’s Department discovered a woman’s body near Butler Road in Mashulaville.

Sheriff Terry Grassaree said it was a tip that led The Choctaw Tribal Police Department out to Butler Road.

Shortly afterwards, Noxubee County deputies were called out to the scene and began investigating.

Sheriff Grassaree said the woman is of a Native American descent and could be a woman who’s been missing for nearly a month.

“We got the call approximately about 5, 5:30. The Choctaw Police Department was over here. They told us what they saw so we came out here and got involved with it. Right now as you can see it’s night so we will do the most we can and carry it on into tomorrow,” said Grassaree.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the State Crime Lab are expected to be on scene Wednesday morning to assist with the investigation.
