VIDEO: MUW’s Hoot Service Day
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The new school year is just beginning, but MUW students are already making themselves known in the community.
The newest Blues fanned out across Columbus on Tuesday, for Hoot Service Day.
It’s a part of Blues Week, kicking off the Fall Semester.
Students volunteered their time at different agencies, including Loaves and Fishes, where they bagged lunches and stocked shelves.
“I love the community. Ever since I’ve been here, Columbus has been another family besides Yazoo to me and ever since I’ve been here, I’ve been with Helping Hands and Loaves and Fishes, so it’s a good environment to be around,” says MUW student and volunteer, Laquisha Davis.
Students also helped out at the Red Cross, Beautiful Life Adult Daycare Center, and Father’s Child Ministry.
