VIDEO: A Dead Body Is Discovered At An Apartment Complex In Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- A death investigation is still ongoing in Tupelo after a woman’s body was found at an apartment complex Monday afternoon.

It was around 12:30 P.M. when Tupelo Police Officers were called out to the Westwood Apartments and made the discovery.

Investigators said the victim is an African-American female and appeared to have been shot.

Family members we’re in shock and disbelief when they received the devastating news.

They describe the their loved one as an outgoing person with an outstanding personality.

The victim leaves behind a 14 year old daughter.

Right now, family members are still searching for answers and trying to make sense of this painful loss.

“She didn’t bother nobody,” said Elias Tables, the victim’s cousin. “She didn’t fool with nobody but family. We just seen her yesterday, everything was good. We were all laughing and talking. She always tried to keep the family together, ya know. We’re all just trying to stay together. It’s just hard to believe. It’s hard to believe.”

The family said she hadn’t lived at Westwood Apartments for very long.

The victim’s name isn’t being released at this time.

So far no arrests have been made, and the death is still under investigation.
