DEVELOPING: Four Dead After Overnight Crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Four people are dead following an overnight crash in Washington County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating the two-vehicle crash that happened on US-82 near Ann Drive Inn Road at approximately 7pm, Friday.

Troopers believe 45 year-old Dennis L Smith, of Greenville, was traveling east bound when he apparently lost control of his car and crossed over into the west bound lanes and collided into a 2006 Kia, driven by 64 year-old Jimmy L. Vance, of Leland.

Smith and Vance both received fatal injuries from the crash and died on the crash scene.

59 year-old Leenell Boleware, of Leland, and 44 year-old Angela Cooper, of Tupelo, were passengers in Vance’s vehicle.

They both received fatal injuries from the crash as well.

None of the crash victims were wearing a seat belt.

Trooper’s are also trying to determine whether or not Smith may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
