Mantachie Man Charged With Possession With Intent To Distribute, Child Endangerment

ITAWAMBA CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A man is facing multiple counts of child endangerment after an investigation turns up drugs in his home.

34-year-old Donald Shumpert was charged with four counts of child endangerment Tuesday, June 13, after an investigation was concluded on June 9 that found Shumpert had a large quantity of marijuana at his residence.

On June 9, Itawamba County Sheriff’s deputies searched Shumpert’s home in Mantachie and found marijuana there. He was arrested that same day and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and child endangerment. His bond on those charges was set at $5,000.00.

On June 13, deputies arrested and charged Shumpert with four counts of child endangerment. Those charges stemmed from the earlier investigation and search of Shumpert’s home.

His bond for those additional charges of child endangerment was set at $25,000.00.
