VIDEO: City and Festival Committee Butt Heads

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI)- An area festival committee is out $3,000 after the city says it didn’t abide by its contract.

The city of Amory and the Railroad Festival Committee bumped heads at last nights Board of Alderman meeting.

The city is saying that the committee broke its contract when it didn’t properly dispose of trash following this year’s Railroad Festival.

Each year the city gives the committee $3,000 after the festival to help with expenses.

This year, the city wrote up a contract with the committee to hold them accountable.

The committee says they feel the contract set them up for failure.

Both the city and the committee say they still plan on hosting the Railroad Festival next year.
