Video: Son Of Lee County Murder Victim Charged In Her Death
LEE COUNTY (WCBI) – The son of a Shannon woman found dead Sunday night is charged in her death.
35 year old Antonio C Gladney faces a murder charge for allegedly killing 66 year old Molly Gladney. The elder Gladney was found dead in the yard of her County Road 54 home. Lee County authorities picked Antonio Gladney up on possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charge Tuesday but added the murder charge earlier today. Sheriff Jim Johnson says Gladney has an extensive criminal history and was given an early release from custody last year. Johnson says one of the most troubling parts of the investigation is the discovery of a Mothers day Card and a bouquet of flowers found inside Molly Gladney’s home. Investigators say it appears Antonio Gladney used the card and flowers to gain his mother’s trust in order to get inside her residence. The sheriff says the crime scene is one of the more gruesome ones he has encountered in his career. The plan is to prosecute Gladney as a habitual offender which means he cannot be granted parole if he is convicted of murder in the case.
