Video: Local Student Wins National Scholarship Award

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Millsaps College student from Belden has been selected as a Truman Scholar.

Noah Barbieri is one of only sixty-two students in the nation this year to receive the prestigious award.

Barbieri will officially receive his award in a ceremony at the Truman Library in Missouri next month. He can use the $30,000 scholarship toward graduate school.

Barbieri is a junior at Millsaps, majoring in economics, mathematics, and philosophy.

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation was created by Congress in 1975 as a living memorial to President Truman.
