Video: Students “Parade” Their Success in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) –Aberdeen residents turned out to show their support for some students ahead of this year’s state tests.

Belle – Shivers Elementary students were honored with a parade through the city Thursday afternoon.

Parents, teachers, and community residents turned out to cheer the kids on, and celebrate their hard work as they study for the year-end tests.

Students who showed the most growth got to take the lead.

“We just want the community to come out and give our kids support, so they can motivate them to do well on the test.”

Thursday was also Principal Doss’ birthday, and she got a special treat. The children sang “Happy Birthday” to her.
