ROBY

According to the victim’s statements, Roby approached the victim as he was entering his rental car in the Leigh Mall parking lot. Roby entered the passenger front seat and attempted to tell the victim where to drive, but a language barrier kept the victim from clearly understanding Roby’s demands.

At one point, Roby demanded to drive the car and swapped seats with the victim. The victim was also allegedly forced to give Roby cash including stopping at an ATM for a withdrawal.

Approximately 90 minutes later, Roby demanded the victim use his credit card to secure a room at a local Columbus motel. The victim complied, rented the room and then notified Columbus police.

Columbus police began an immediate investigation and Roby was arrested at the motel and identified by the victim. Roby was not reported to have displayed a weapon, but put the victim in fear of personal injury while taking his property, which constitutes robbery.

The Macon Police department has an outstanding warrant for Roby for robbery.
