Early Morning Stabbing

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Two people are recovering from an early morning stabbing.

At around 11:13 a.m., Columbus Police received a report of a person being stabbed on Holly Hills Road.

Columbus Investigators say six people were in route to church when an argument started between two of the passengers in a car.

A 27-year old passenger  stabbed two other passengers, a 22-year-old male (who was a friend of the suspect) and a 15-year-old female (who was a relative of the suspect) with a knife.

The suspect got out of the car and was taken into custody by Columbus patrol officers as he fled the area on foot.   The male victim  was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital by what police are calling a“Good Samaritan” who was passing by.

The “Good Samaritan” was headed to the same church service as the victims and is a service member from the Columbus Air Force Base.

The female victim was transported by private vehicle to BMH.

Both victim injuries appeared superficial and full recoveries are expected.
