Video: Church Student Choir To Hold Auction, Offer Fish Plates As Fundraiser For Chicago Summer Trip
TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A church youth choir is giving the public a chance to get a good meal, bid on auction items and help the young musicians and singers take a summer mission trip.
The “Zamar” Student Choir at Tupelo’s Harrisburg Baptist Church is holding a fundraiser Saturday in the church’s fellowship hall and gym .
There are many items up for auction, ten dollars gets you a fried catfish meal and all proceeds will help more than 80 choir members and some chaperones take a trip to Chicago.
The choir will perform at public places throughout Chicago during their trip. Each year the Zamar student choir takes a mission trip where they hold concerts with a powerful message.
“I love it because I get to worship Jesus and I get to minister to people. I love to sing but don’t love to sing solos. But I get to use that and I would encourage people to come, they are able to help support in that mission,” said Zamar Choir Member Hannah Cox.
“It’s a great group of kids to be able to take and show them, what it’s like to minister to others who may not have heard the same message they have heard, it gets them out of their comfort zone,” said Music Associate Corey Bolen.
The Chicago trip is set for June 22nd through July 1st. The auction and fish fry all starts at ten saturday morning, April 1. It runs until about one o clock.
