VIDEO: Mississippi Awards Gala

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- Tupelo was the site of tonight’s annual Our Mississippi Awards Gala.

A packed crowd was on hand to honor diversity in the Tupelo Community.

The event is aimed at honoring those who have made it their lifetime goal to make sure that the work environment is diverse in the areas and race and gender.

The guest of honor was actor John Amos.

Dr. Charlise LaTour says Tupelo has come a long way in the diversity of Department.

The Ambassador Award went to Dr. Robert Khayat, and the Ambassador Award went to Mrs. Latonia Shirley.

There were also several corporate diversity awards presented.
