Overnight Wildfires Spread in Two Counties

CHOCTAW & LEAKE COUNTY (WCBI)- Two large scale wildfires spread through Leake and Choctaw Counties Thursday night.

The Leake County fire covered a total of three-hundred plus acres of land.

A crew of ten people worked to put out the blaze. The fire in Choctaw County covered a total of  three-hundred-seventy-four acres of land. Both fires have been contained.

Mississippi Forestry Commision crews stayed overnight to monitor fires spots umtil it was safe.

No structures were threatened as a result of these fires.
