Man Claims Truck Was Stolen, Later Admits He Crashed It

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI)- The Oxford Police Department says a man allegedly claimed his truck had been stolen.

Officers later found the truck Sunday morning. It had been wrecked at South 8th and Fillmore Ave.

Once officers brought the supposed “victim” to the scene, he finally admitted that the vehicle had not been stolen and that he had wrecked and left the scene.

The Oxford Police Department released this statement:

“If you look at the last picture you can see he went airborne, clipped a tree, nose dived in the ground, and then rolled to the right landing upright. He’s lucky to be alive.”
