Video: No Republican Candidates On Ballot For Columbus Mayor

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – There will not be a Republican candidate on the ballot for Columbus mayor.

The Columbus Republican Municipal Executive Committee declined to certify Garthia Halbert because she did not meet residency requirements.

Now, there are three Democratic candidates and an Independent vying to become mayor.

Three Republican candidates will run in council elections.

Primary elections will be May 2nd, and the general election is June 6th.
