One Man Dead After Apartment Fire; One In Critical Condition

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- One man is dead following a structure fire in Pontotoc County late this afternoon.

Fire Chief Lance Martin says the county fire department was called to 180 East Hutch street at an apartment in that complex.

Crews responded to the scene at around 1:08 this afternoon.

57 year old Thomas Foreman was pulled from the apartment and was taken to a hospital in Memphis- where he remains in critical condition.

No word yet on the identity of the man who passed away.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
