Video: Man Faces Felony Child Sex Abuse Charges In Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI-TV) – Lee County Sheriff’s Department officials said Thursday that a man is facing four felony counts of sexual child abuse.

39-year-old John Tallant is under arrest after an investigation found evidence of multiple sexual incidents with a four-year-old child. He’s facing one count of sexual battery and three counts of fondling of a child.

Sheriff’s Department officials expect other felony charges in the future.

“We are looking at not only additional charges that are similar to these but there are going to be some charges brought forth during the grand jury that [are] not sexual battery and not fondling,” Sheriff Jim Johnson said.

The case will go before a grand jury.

A judge set bond at $350,000 and stipulated that if he makes bond he cannot have contact with the victim or the victim’s mother and he must wear a tracking device.
