Video: Retirement Community Celebrates Mardi Gras

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It may be miles away from the Big Easy, but a Starkville retirement community is not missing out on the Fat Tuesday fun.

Residents at the Claiborne at Adelaide held a Mardi Gras parade Tuesday.

Bully and MSU cheerleaders walked the route and local business owners rode golf carts through the neighborhood throwing beads, moon pies, and other goodies.

Starkville Mayor Parker Wiseman helped judge parade entries.

The festivities continued with a masquerade party featuring entertainment by the Old Memphis Kings.
