Lowndes Burglary & Assault Arrest

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man is accused of breaking into his girlfriend’s home and hitting her.

Dennis Jay Evans, 29, is charged with burglary and domestic simple assault.

Lowndes County deputies were called to the home this past weekend, but charges weren’t finalized until today.

As of this Wednesday afternoon, Evans remained in jail.

The incident remains under investigation.
