VIDEO: Local Area Recovering From Storm Damage

Mississippi (WCBI)- The National Weather Service confirmed tornadoes touched down in Holly Springs and Tate late Saturday night.

The weather service says a tornado was also briefly seen Alcorn.

The heavy storm caused significant tree damage.

A shed was destroyed in Shannon after high winds caused a tree to up root itself.

Here in Columbus, two apartment buildings lost the steel plating of their roofs.

At Fox Run Apartments high winds caused roofing debris to knock over a power line and damaged a car in the neighboring parking lot.

Residents lost power for a couple of hours.

In Starkville, an awning was blown off a business off of Highway 12.

No injuries or deaths have been reported.
