Webster County Crash Still Under Investigation

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- The Webster County Sheriff’s department is still investigating a crash that killed a local teacher over the weekend.

Investigator Landon Griffin says the accident occurred at around 6 in the morning on Saturday.

Jackie McMullen and her two children were driving on Clarkson Road en route to a gymnastics competition when her car veered off the road, went sideways in a ditch, hit an embankment and flipped over.

Her daughters were able to crawl out and went to a nearby house to contact the police.

Griffin says one of the girls suffered minor injuries, McMullen however was pronounced dead on the scene.

For now, Griffin along with the help of other investigators and MHP are trying to find out how and why this happened.

“There just could be several things that could’ve happened but we want to cover all our bases and see if we can’t figure out what happened, to get some closure to the family and for them,” says Griffin.
