VIDEO: Columbus Family Recieves Home for the Holidays

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Home for the holidays takes on a special meaning for one Columbus family.

On Sunday, the Jacobs were handed the keys to their newly constructed home, thanks to habitat for humanity.

The Jacobs, a family of five, began the application process more than two years ago.  Construction, on the home, started in may.

After more than seven months and with the help of community volunteers the Jacobs will spend this Christmas in their brand new home on Columbus’ East side.

The Columbus chapter of Habitat for Humanity was established in 1989.  This is 45th home they’ve built.
