Video: Columbus Officer, 3 Others Injured In Wreck

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus police officer is recovering after a late Monday afternoon car wreck.

The accident happened on Tuscaloosa Road at Cattleman’s Steak and Fish restaurant about 4 PM.

It’s unclear how the crash happened.

Columbus Police Chief Oscar Lewis says the officer was responding to a call at Love’s truck stop.

The cruiser was going east on Tuscaloosa Road, near Sand Road.

The officer is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

A woman and two children were also injured. Lewis did not know their conditions.

State troopers are investigating the crash.
