Update: Columbus Stabbing Victim Identified

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The man stabbed to death at a Columbus motel has been identified.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says the victim  is Robert Elliott Thomas, 34, of Columbus.

Merchant says he was called to the America’s Best Value Inn on 5th Street around 3:00am.

Merchant says Thomas had been stabbed multiple times. He was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle where he was pronounced dead.

Columbus Police have not released any information at this time about the death or any possible suspects.
