Alcorn County Teen Dies In Sunday Wreck

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating an early Sunday morning,  one-vehicle accident, that claimed the life of a Glen teenager.

Troopers responded to MS 2, near Kossuth, at approximately 4:45am. Upon arriving it appeared Steelie Mincy, 18, of Glen, was traveling east, when she apparently lost control of her 2003 Cadillac Escalade. Her vehicle left the roadway, collided into a ditch, then overturned several times.

Mincy was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

Landon Blake Baswell, 19, of Glen, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and received fatal injuries. He died on the crash scene.

Baswell was a student at North East Mississippi Community College in Booneville.

This is the second unbuckled  teenage fatality Troop F has recorded in the last 5 days.
