Video: Group Hosts Community Thanksgiving Lunch
WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Thanksgiving is a still a few weeks away, but a West Point organization served up a big feast for the community Wednesday.
The group, Lifting Spirits, spent two days this week preparing turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings.
They began delivering meals to elderly and disabled neighbors at 8:30am Wednesday. At lunchtime, city officials, law enforcement officers, and other community leaders joined volunteers on the Community Counseling campus to serve hundreds of people who showed up for a hot meal.
This is the 12th year organizer Alma Brown has hosted the Thanksgiving luncheon.
