LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County deputies tried to pull him over but he ended up getting caught in a cotton field.

Christopher George Peacock, 33, is now charged with felony fleeing and eluding and possession of paraphernalia.

Chief Deputy Marc Miley says deputies attempted to stop Peacock on a traffic violation in the area of Steens-Vernon and Gunshoot Roads, just before 10 Wednesday morning.

Once the deputy approached Peacock’s vehicle he sped away.

Miley says Peacock eventually stopped at a carwash on Highway 50 and ran through a cotton field.

The Steens man was arrested shortly after in wooded area.

It’s believed he was trying to go to his Gunshoot Road home.
