VIDEO: Columbus Family Creates Haunted House For The Neighborhood

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- A Columbus family loves Halloween.  And, they’ve taken the neighborhood haunted house to a new level.  On any given day the Smith family, who live at 112 Maple Street just off hwy 82 East, are tucked away in a quiet neighborhood.

However, on Saturday their house became a hub of activity for the entire block.  The family and about a dozen more family members got together and created a haunted house and Halloween festival for their children and children in the neighborhood. One family member says it’s a simple reason why she put so much time, effort and money into celebrating Halloween.

“Instead of going door to door we wanted to do something different for the kids and family,” says homeowner Tamiko Hamilton.

The family hopes to make this an annual neighborhood event.
