VIDEO: David Brooks Pays Ole Miss A Visit
OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI)- Students at Ole Miss received insight on how to find a meaningful life from acclaimed author and New York Times columnist David Brooks at the Honors College Fall Convocation at the University of Mississippi.
Brooks is a regular contributor to “PBS Newshour” and a Yale professor.
He says that while students are often well prepared to find a job after college, many are in great need of finding spiritual and character development.
Brooks recommends they seek out opportunities to know different people and to do more self-examination of their own weaknesses.
Brooks lecture was part of a series of signature events being held throughout the year as part of the investiture of the university’s 17th chancellor, Jeffrey Vitter.
