Video: Preview Party Gives Peek At ‘Celebration Village’

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) –  Hundreds turned out for the kickoff of an annual event that lets many get a jump on Christmas shopping, while helping a great cause.

A preview party was held for the fifteenth annual “Celebration Village” in Building Five of the Tupelo Furniture Market.

More than 140 vendors are selling everything from clothes, jewelry, furniture, works of art and other items.

Ticket and booth fees all help fund the mission of “Sanctuary Hospice House” which provides care for those battling terminal illnesses.

“Sanctuary Hospice House could not exist if it were not for fundraisers , and this community effort.  Celebration Village is our largest fundraiser ,  we have to come up with over a million dollars every year to offset our operating costs, we have a 24 bed in patient facility and without fundraisers and help from the community, we wouldn’t be able to do it, we never turn a patient away,” said Harold Plunkett, CEO of Sanctuary Hospice House.
