Texas Man Leads MHP Troopers On Two-County Chase
ITAWAMBA CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A Sardis man and Texas man drive in to Mississippi… And go directly to jail.
36-year-old James Allen Huff of Cypress, Texas is arrested and charged by the Mississippi Highway Patrol after he failed to stop for troopers.
A state trooper attempted to pull over Huff’s 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat going west bound on I-22 for careless driving and speeding, but Huff kept on going.
He led troopers on a chase that spanned two counties.
Officers put spike strips on I-22 and MS 371 to try to end the chase, but Huff drove off the road to avoid them.
After speeding north on MS 371, he was finally caught on the Natchez Trace.
Huff is charged with felony fleeing, resisting arrest, and numerous misdemeanor traffic violations.
39-year-old Randall Tidwell of Sardis, the passenger in the car and ride-along for the pursuit, is charged with failure to comply with a command from a law enforcement officer.
Both Tidwell and Huff remain in the Itawamba County Jail.
