Video: Monroe County Man Pleads Guilty to Second Degree Murder
ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – A Hamilton man will spend the next 20 years in jail for a 2014 shooting death.
James Matthew Hunter pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder today in Monroe County Circuit Court.
Hunter was accused of shooting and killing Jonathan Furland at Hunter’s home on Elam Lane in Hamilton back in December 2014.
According to investigators, the two men were involved in an altercation, and Hunter shot Furland.
Judge Jim Pounds sentenced Hunter to 20 years in prison.
