Video: UPDATE – New Details In Karriem Domestic Violence Case
COLUMBUS ( WCBI ) – More details are surfacing in the domestic violence case against State Representative Kabir Karriem.
WCBI News has learned the 9-1-1 call made Monday night was placed by Karriem’s adult daughter but it is not confirmed she is the victim in the case. WCBI has also discovered the incident took place near Karriem’s home near 14th Avenue and Military Road around 7 PM. The case filed by Columbus Police is a misdemeanor case and do not stem from any formal charges filed by the victim in the incident. Columbus officers filed the charges in accordance to state law which requires them to make an arrest if they have probable cause to believe some type of domestic violence took place. WCBI has also determined the person allegedly assaulted in the case did not require any medical attention. The 43 year old Karriem turned himself in just after 7 Tuesday morning on the warrant and was released on his own recognizance a short time later.
