VIDEO: Plaque Dedicated To Local Blues Artist

BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI)- The city of Bruce unveiled a historic marker to honor one of it’s favorite sons who made it big in the entertainment business.

The Mississippi Blues commission has designated Bruce as part of the Mississippi Blues Marker trail.

This marker celebrates Calhoun County music with a special emphasis on Leo Bud Welch, who is a local blues performer.

Welch has gone on to attain international fame, but he started out with what some would say, a humble beginning.

Bruce officials expect this marker will be a boom for tourism.

They believe Blues enthusiasts will come here as part of the Mississippi Blues marker tour.
