Video: Drainage Project Nears Completion in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The ten year drainage project on 14th Avenue North in Columbus is nearing the finish line. Workers have cleared contaminated soil out, filled in the ditch with new dirt and lined it with concrete.
Columbus, along with the Army Corps Engineers spent over one million dollars on the project.Paving and striping will complete the redesign.
“This project has been a long time coming.”
“If we all didn’t come together and work for a common goal then it wouldn’t happen, so every entity has their own person and project they have to protect, but obviously, we put all the differences and money into the pot and all work together to get to the end goal. It wouldn’t happen otherwise.”
The project is 95 % complete and should be finished within the next two to three weeks.
