Video: UPDATE: Bodies Of Missing Men Found

MONROE COUNTY, (Miss.) – The search for two missing boaters in Monroe County has ended.
Monroe County authorities confirm the bodies of 64-year-old Herold McCreight and 69-year-old Winford Holmes have been recovered from the Tombigbee River.

Both bodies were found near the Becker boat ramp, about 10 miles from where the two launched their fishing boat Tuesday morning.

Monroe County deputies received a call from family members around 10 p.m. Tuesday, after they couldn’t make contact with the two men.

Around 1 a.m. Wednesday, search crews found the men’s boat capsized around two miles from their launch site.

A number of state and local search crews assisted in the recovery.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says the water in the river is higher due to recent rainfall amounts.
