Charges Filed In Oxford Death

OXFORD ( WCBI ) – An Alabama man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a Saturday night death in Oxford.

52 year old Ludie Lassiter of Pennington, Alabama is accused of killing 39 year old Henry Chandler Jenkins of Lafayette County.  Jenkins and Lassiter were found inside a room at the Ole Miss Motel around 8:30 last Saturday night.  Jenkins was already dead and Lassiter had suffered major injuries.   Oxford detectives made the decision to charge Lassiter with manslaughter after an autopsy report determined Jenkins had been strangled.   Bond is set at $100,000
