Freak Accident Leaves Man Lucky to Be Alive
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A freak accident leaves a 22-year-old Lowndes County man lucky to be alive.
Sheriff’s investigators aren’t releasing the man’s name yet but say he apparently fell threw a glass cabinet, impaling several large pieces of glass in his neck. Parademics and rescue workers were called to a unit in Stringer Apartments on William Roberts Road at about 8 p.m. Monday and were able to control the bleeding long enough to take him by ambulance to Pioneer Medical Center in Aberdeen where he was met by a helicopter and airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He remains in intensive care there.
