LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -Camp Jigsaw is washing away fears and piecing together memories at Lake Tiak O’Khata. Kids with autism are bowling, rock climbing, and swimming at the five day camp. Campers are also learning social skills such as; making eye contact and using a positive tone during conversations.
“It’s about finding the place finding the new part about yourself you never knew you had. For me, I like my experiences here show me that I have more to offer to the world than what I feel like I can.”
“They have people tell them that they’re not accepted and that they’re not able to fit in, but here they are accepted and they’re not different than any other student in any school. They are all the same and they should be treated that way.”
MSU hosts the camp that’s paid for by funded by private donations.
