Two Arrested in Randolph (MS) Post Office Robbery

RANDOLPH, Miss. On Tuesday (9/27/16), two suspects connected to the Randolph, Mississippi, Post Office Robbery where the postmaster was wounded from gunshot were arrested based on a federal criminal complaint from the Northern District of Mississippi. The pair was arrested in Lockport, Louisiana, and will be presented at the courthouse in New Orleans on Wednesday morning before being transported back to Mississippi.
“The U.S. Postal Inspection Service was assisted by our law enforcement partners in the U.S. Marshall’s, the Louisiana State Police, the Lafourche Parrish Sheriff Department, the Lockport Police Department, the Pontotoc Sheriff’s Department, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation” said Inspector in Charge Adrian Gonzalez. “We are also very pleased that the postmaster was not seriously injured. The security of postal employees and postal customers is at the core of the Postal Inspection Service’s mission. Postal inspectors from Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile, Alabama, Jackson, Mississippi, and Memphis, Tennessee, converged in Randolph, Mississippi, to help ensure a quick resolution to this to postal crime.”
A complaint or indictment contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
