Video: Baseball Players Begin Tournament by Remembering a Fallen Friend

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – North Mississippi residents continue to mourn the loss of a young boy killed during a baseball tournament last week.

Today, family and friends of 10-year old Lane Rodgers gathered at the Sportsplex for a devotional, in memory of the young baseball player’s life.

A large tree limb fell and killed Rodgers, while people were evacuating the tournament due to storms.

The second day of the event was cancelled because of the accident.

Lane’s family has since set up a memorial fund in his honor at the Citizen’s Bank in Byhalia.
