Video: Winston County Officials Making Moves to Rebuild Hospital

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -Winston County leaders could have a timeline in place for work on a new hospital by the end of this month.

Bids will be taken June 11th for the demolition of the Winston Medical Center heavily damaged by the April 20-14 tornado. The bid could be awarded on June 15th and work begin soon thereafter.

Meanwhile, hospital, city and county officials are closing out the purchase of almost six acres adjacent to the hospital campus to make the project work more smoothly. The property will cost about 400 thousand.

The hospital is also in the process of working out financing to match insurance and federal funds to complete the entire project., including the hospital and nursing home, and other medical and health related facilities.
